Parking at Heathrow Airport

In such a busy airport as LHR, parking is of paramount importance because it's a way to get to the check-in desk in a matter of minutes or be able to leave your car for the period of your trip. Check out the list of parking options available for travellers at LHR Airport:

Buses run every 15 minutes and your trip to the terminal door stop will take 5 minutes tops. Pick-ups and drop-offs are available from the preferred forecourt. Prices of long-stay parking at Heathrow Airport

The cost of parking depends on the duration of your vehicle'‎s stay, the season, and the date.

  • The first 29 minutes of stay are free;
  • From 30 minutes to 1 hour 59 minutes — £9 ($11,14 or €10,14), free for Blue Badge holders;

Heathrow Airport short-stay parking spot is available for passengers right outside each terminal building, within a 2-minute walk. Please be aware that the maximum duration of the car stay for pre-booking at short-stay facilities is 99 days. If you park on the day without pre-reservation, you can leave your vehicle as long as you want and continue to pay the roll-up daily rate. Overheight vehicle parking at Heathrow LHR Airport

Passengers of LHR Airport can park their vehicles up to 3 metres high in the designated zone on the ground level of short-term parking 2 and 5. You will be charged £15,30 ($18,93 or €17,23) for up to two hours of stay. Below you can check overheight parking charges at Heathrow Airport Terminal 2 and 5:

Drivers can park vehicles up to 2,75m (9,02ft) high on the ground level of short-stay parking facilities 3. Vehicles over 2m (6,5ft) high and/or 2,1m (6,8ft) wide can be left at the long-stay Terminal 4 car park, where they will be charged the short-stay tariff for up to 6 hours. After this time normal rates will be applied.

Heathrow Airport pick-up parking

Upon arriving at LHR, please keep in mind that pick-up of passengers from Heathrow's Terminal forecourts is not allowed. So, any vehicles left unattended will be towed by the police. For picking up, passengers can use the long-stay London Heathrow Airport parking option which is free for the first 30 minutes. Blue Badge holders are enabled to 120 minutes of free parking. Upon exit, please press the intercom and provide your Blue Badge.

Another option that can be used for pick-up at LHR is short-term park spots. Passengers can park their car there for £6 ($7,43 or €6,76) during the first 29 minutes. The next 15 minutes will cost them £9,50 ($11,76 or €10,70). The price for the first 1 hour is £12,70 ($15,72 or €14,31).

Heathrow Airport drop-off parking

Heathrow Airport parking drop-off option is available for passengers at the long-term park spot for free. From this car park travellers can take a free bus shuttle directly to the terminal. Please note, that for Blue Badge holders, the first 120 minutes of parking are free. For drop-off, please use the call point upon entry and show your Blue Badge number to the operator. Be aware that a £5 ($6,19 or €5,63) fee applies at LHR every time a car enters the terminal drop-off forecourts. If you enter a drop-off zone for the second time, you will be asked to pay the fee again.

The chargeable areas are indicated with the signs on the roads in and around LHR, so the drivers can easily identify them. Please note that payment at the airport ticket machine or in the terminal drop-off areas is not available.

Heathrow Airport Meet and Greet parking

Meet and Greet Airport parking at Heathrow is an affordable and convenient option that will save you from unnecessary problems with the search for parking space and is suitable for those who are in a hurry. With the Meet & Greet service, you can drive your car into one of the short-stay parking facilities, leave your keys with the airport staff, and they'll do the rest. Heathrow Meet and Greet is open from 5 am to 10:30 pm for final collections. The drive-up daily cost starts from £127,50 ($157,74 or €143,58). Heathrow Airport valet parking

With Valet park service, you will benefit from drop-off through the Heathrow forecourt with direct access to the terminal. You can leave your vehicle with an airport staff member who will park your car. Upon return, you will be able to pick up your car at a short-term parking spot. You can also use the option of professional car cleaning to have your vehicle prepared for your return. Valet parking at Heathrow Airport is available at all LHR terminals and is open from 5 am to 10:30 pm for final collection. Valet parking drive-up daily costs start from £127,50 ($157,74 or €143,58) for one day. If you want to leave your vehicle for two days or more, check out the fees you need to charge below:

Heathrow Airport pod parking

LHR Pod parking allows travellers to get to/from Terminal 5 in a driverless, electric car in just six minutes. Such pods are available 7 days per week from 4 am to 12:30 am. At other times passengers can take a shuttle bus. The Pod parking daily fee is £53,10 ($65,69 or €59,78). Follow the instructions below to use a quick and convenient way of transferring to/from Terminal 5:

  • Follow the signs to the Heathrow Pod parking lot and drive up to the barrier;
  • Park your car, take out your baggage, and follow the "Heathrow Pod" signs to the Pod station;
  • If you do not see any Pods at the station, call one using the touch-screen system;
  • Board the first available Pod, load your belongings and press the button to set it on its way.

Heathrow Airport business parking

Business parking at LHR could be a perfect solution for busy business travellers and other passengers who want to manage their time efficiently on a trip. Business park spaces are available in Terminals 2 & 3 and Terminal 5, closer than long-term parking which is ideal for customers who need to save time. With business shuttle buses (on-demand) you will be quickly and comfortably taken to your terminal with minimal waiting time (5-10 minutes). Business transfer offers free onboard Wi-Fi to provide quality service. Coaches will be available from your location 24 hours a day. If you need to leave your vehicle between the hours of 11 pm and 4 am, use the intercom at the barrier to request a pick-up. The daily LHR Airport parking fee is £42,70 ($52,83 or €48,09).

Upon your return, you can take a transfer from Terminal 2 Arrivals Forecourt (from bus stop 4 on Lane 1) or Terminal 3 pick-up zone outside the Arrival area (bus stop 16). During the out-of-hours period (from 11:30 pm to 4 am), please request a shuttle to the parking lot by calling 020 8745 6261.

Heathrow Airport motorcycle parking

Heathrow Airport offers dedicated motorbike parking spaces where travellers can park their two-wheeled vehicles free of charge. Below you can check the location of such spaces in each terminal:

  • Motorcycle parking at Terminal 2 can be found on Cessna Road, next to the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel;
  • To get the Heathrow Airport parking at Terminal 3, move to the back of Short Stay Car Park 1A/5, which is to the right of the exit. Access to the bike park is via Chester Road;
  • Terminal 4 offers a motorcycle park lot just opposite the arrivals forecourt. Please note that parking of motorcycles/mopeds/scooters is prohibited in Terminal 2,3 and 4 multi-level car parks.
  • Terminal 5 bike park lots are located next to the short-term car park. Keep in mind that motorcycles are allowed to park in the multi-level car parks in the over-height area only.

Disabled parking at Heathrow Airport

  • A well-signposted blue badge car park is available in all short-term parking, which is close to terminal access routes;

  • If you need any mobility assistance or help with your baggage, please ask the airport staff;
  • If you want to park in a blue badge lot but need to take your badge abroad, you will be asked to provide your badge to the car park operator. Please contact the car park operator via the help button on the parking entry machine.
  • Customers must pay for parking tickets at the kiosks or automatic payment machines before returning to the vehicle. If you cannot reach the payment slot, press the help button. Payment via card directly at the parking exit barriers is allowed.
  • Business and long-stay parking at Heathrow Airport

Blue badge lots can be also found in business and long-term car parks next to bus stops or admin offices. If you need to arrange a suitable transfer to get to the terminal, please contact the appropriate car park in advance.

  • Height restrictions

Below you can see the height limits applied at Heathrow'‎s short-term parks:

  • Short-term park 2 of Terminal 2 allows only vehicles with a height less than 2,05m (6,72ft);
  • Terminal 3 has an overheight area where cars up to 2,75m (9,02ft) are allowed, other floors accept cars with a height less than 2,2m (7,2ft);
  • Terminal 4 parking is permitted for vehicles up to 2m (6,56ft) in height;
  • The overheight zone of the Heathrow Airport parking at Terminal 5 has no restrictions, other floors allow cars up to 2,2m (7,2ft) in height.
