You will be able to find many facilities at LHR Airport if you need them. Heathrow services include medical, VIP, family, prayer and postal options. You will also find assistance for people with disabilities, Heathrow Airport hair salon, telephone hire, Oyster Card kiosks, etc.

Heathrow medical centre

Heathrow medical services offer you emergency care, which you can get from any internal telephone number. Therefore, please call 222. The operator will then call an ambulance for you as soon as you tell him/her. If you need the telephone, simply ask a member of staff at the airport.

How do I find D'Albiac House Medical Centre?

Exit Heathrow through the main tunnel, then go straight ahead in the nearest side lane. After exiting the tunnel, turn left onto Chard Road and follow the one-way traffic to the left onto Calshot Road. After crossing the tunnel turn right onto Calshot Way. Under the canopy, you will find an ambulance post.

Pharmacy - Heathrow Airport

Services at Heathrow also introduce you to Boots pharmacy at all airport terminals, before and after security control. Here you can buy over-the-counter medicines and needed treatments. You can also get a prescription by going to the pharmacy before security in Terminal 5.

Bradley Smith hair bar

Heathrow Airport facilities invite men to visit Bradley Smith Barber Shop, where you will find a wide range of hair, beard, and moustache care services.

Heathrow baby services

Heathrow travelling with babies may present some difficulties or challenges that need to be overcome. Therefore, facilities include various help and other options for children and families, which you can explore below.

Heathrow kids' play area

Heathrow baby facilities offer free Mr. Adventure Stay & Play areas for children to have a fun time while waiting for their flight. There are slides, soft play areas, dedicated seats for toddlers and younger children, as well as colouring books, worksheets with interesting tasks, and much more.

Stay & Play is recommended for ages 9 and under.

All play areas except the one in Terminal 3 are unsupervised for children. Kids must therefore be accompanied by an adult.

  • Terminal 2 - you will find Stay & Play after security in the main departure hall, near Gate A16. Also in this terminal, Stay & Play is after security at Gate B, near Gate B46.
  • Terminal 3 - Stay & Play can be found after security control above the departure hall. To get there, use the stairs and the lift behind InMotion.
  • Terminal 4 - Stay & Play is after security, near Gate 1A.
  • Terminal 5 - Stay & Play is after security, near Gate A2.

St. George's chapel in Heathrow

Heathrow Airport mobile phone rental and SIM cards

Cell phone rental at Heathrow Airport is available from one of the world's largest SIM card providers, “Sim Local”. You will be offered a wide range of SIM cards from leading UK network operators, and it will also allow you to use the local network for your travels. As well as SIM cards you can buy yourself a phone and accessories.

There is a Sim Local shop in every LHR Airport terminal.

Where to buy Oyster card in Heathrow Airport

You can buy an Oyster Card at Heathrow Airport at the metro station ticket office, and follow the signs to get there.

The Oyster Card (or travelcard) can be found at the Heathrow Tourist Information Centre near the Tube at Terminals 1, 2, and 3.

To get the card, you will need to make a £5 ($6,02 or 5,65) deposit, which can be refunded later. To refund, use the machine where your card was bought and reloaded.

Please note, it must be more than 48 hours and a balance of more than £10 ($12,03 or 11,30) to get a refund after you purchase your Oyster Card.

Heathrow Airport app

There is a good offer for regular passengers at LHR Airport - the Heathrow app. As your trusted travel companion, this app will help you get more information and satisfaction from your trip.

The functions of this app include travel navigation to move around the airport with ease, as well as useful information about attractions, the location of restrooms, lounges, and other locations. Additionally, you can check the weather and view or use your scores.

Plus, at some of Heathrow's restaurants and cafes, you have the option to pre-order food through the app and have it delivered when you arrive at the LHR Airport.

For those who prefer online payments, you can pay for parking and terminal drop-off fees in the Heathrow Airport app.

The app is available in the App Store and Play Market for download at the moment.

Internet and workspaces at LHR

Wi-Fi is available in all Heathrow Airport terminals, so you can use the internet for free while you're at the airport.

For Heathrow Rewards loyalty members, faster internet is available at no extra charge.

To connect to Wi-Fi, go to your phone settings and search for the _Heathrow Wi-Fi network.

Payphones

London Heathrow Airport facilities for making calls from public telephones are available in all terminals. It is also accessible to people with disabilities, including text phones for the hearing impaired. To find them, simply ask the airport staff.

Heathrow special assistance

There are many options for people with disabilities at LHR Airport. These include Heathrow wheelchair assistance, support throughout the airport, information, additional features and services at various terminal locations, and much more.

You can find wheelchair assistance at designated points, which are available to all travellers at the following locations: near the terminal entrance, car park, Heathrow Express station, and London Underground.

Use the help point to contact the terminal building. There is also a number to contact the helper in all terminals: 020 8757 2700. You can use this number to arrange assistance with disembarking and boarding your car.

All terminals have a designated area where you can get support from LHR airport staff. If you need assistance to get to a collection point, please use the social assistance centre or phone the following numbers:

SignLive App

SignLive app is a convenient and innovative online video interpretation service at Heathrow. With SignLive, deaf or hard-of-hearing passengers can communicate with the airport staff. This is arranged in such a way that the app connects them to a qualified British Sign Language interpreter within seconds and delivers the information they need.

The SignLive service is available round the clock in all reception areas as well as at airport assistants for passengers.

Aira App

London Heathrow services are introducing its Aira app to help passengers with visual impairments.

Available free of charge, the app connects passengers directly to a professional aid, who will then provide the passenger with helper according to individual requirements. For example assistance in navigating through Heathrow Airport and finding specific locations (restaurants, departure/arrival halls, washrooms, retail outlets, etc.).

Please note that Aira warns its passengers that they will not be able to use their mobile devices during security and immigration checks.

The Aira assistant will direct you to an airport support agent to escort you or assist you during the security check.

Postal services at LHR Airport

The post office at Heathrow allows its passengers to send a parcel to anyone, and anywhere. It is a safe and reliable delivery service that takes care of its customers. In addition, there are letterboxes in all LHR Airport terminals, so you will have no trouble finding one.

Heathrow post office

To find the post office at Heathrow Airport, go directly to Terminal 3, Departure area, Landside, near Pret A Manger.

There is also an office in Terminal 5, where WHSmith is, in the departures area, near the south wing.

Postal boxes

If you need to send a letter and/or postcard, you will find letterboxes in all terminals before and after security checks. Please note that everything you send can be checked and standard parcels cannot be sent through letterboxes.

Mail&Fly

London Heathrow services offer a great opportunity to send items in a parcel that you can't take through LHR Airport security. The unique Mail&Fly service can deliver liquids over 100ml (3,38oz) (bottles, perfume), sharp objects (knives), etc. To send, put the item in a Mail&Fly bag in the designated box.

Cost: £6 ($7,22 or 6,78) + postage and packing, which you will pay if you wish to return your item. You have about 6 weeks to apply to return your parcel, then the goods will be returned to you in 3 days.

The Mail&Fly service at Heathrow is operated by Bagport Group.
