If you search for a separate Heathrow smoking area, keep in mind that under the law on smoke in the public enclosed zones and workplaces of the UK, LHR is an anti-tobacco airdrome. The vaping of E-cigs is also forbidden. The cigars smoke is allowed only in earmarked locations situated outside the airdrome facility. But when passing the security desk, you are not allowed to smoke anywhere on the premises.
Those guests who have a transit flight at LHR should remember that smoking in Heathrow Airport is restricted at the time of the connection procedure. The access to the outdoor sections for smoke is only available upon passing passport check (upon the entry to the UK) and by returning then to the departure hall. Please contact your air carrier to know whether it is possible to carry cigars on board in your hand baggage.
Upon arrival at LHR, you cannot find any Heathrow Terminal 5 smoking area. Travellers who would like to take a cigarette can leave the T5 building only once they pass the safety check. Keep in mind that it does not apply to travellers who have a transit air voyage. For guests with transit flights vaping outside the T5 is forbidden. The available option is to take a shuttle to T4 or T2, but in this case, you have to take time to transfer.
In front of Gate A11, you will find a selling point of cigars where IQOS Heats can be "tried out". Those customers who want to smoke there, must trade one of their usual heats for another strain, ask a few questions, and thus they can smoke IQOS.
To access the smoke room in T4, pass the control desk on Level 2, make a left turn , and walk down the hallway to the Burberry brand store. The London Heathrow smoking area in T4 is situated just near the store, close to the Gate 7 exit.
Please consider that currently, the smoking area in Heathrow Terminal 3 transit zone is closed for travellers. The Airside T3 section for tobacco use has been closed in 2018 after the regulatory changes, thus leaving only T4 and T2 with the zones for those who want to smoke before getting on the plane. To access them, hop on a shuttle to Terminal 4 or 2, but consider the time spent on such a trip.
There are no sections for vaping in Airside T2. The only smoking area in Heathrow Terminal 2 is Landside which can be found close to the Gate A1 exit on Level 4. To access this zone, travellers need to pass the airdrome safety check. The T4 section is equipped with sitting places and outdoor heaters.
